THE HUMBLE

Philippians 2:3
Because human beings who have fallen into sin innately self-centered, then the world is less respect for the nature of humility. However, the Bible, which contains God-centered view in terms of humanity and salvation, are very concerned with the nature of humility.
1) Characteristically humble means that we are aware of our weaknesses. (John 3:27; 5:19; 14:10; James 4:6).
2) We must be humble because we are creatures of creation (Gen 18:27, Luke 18:9-14); (Rom 7:18; Gal 6:3). We must rely on God to be a useful and can produce fruit. We can not do anything good without God's help and the help of others (Ps 8:5-6; Jn 15:1-16).
3) God be with someone who lives with humility (Isaiah 57:15; Mi 6:8). God gives greater grace to the humble, but opposes the proud (James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5). His children are the most actively serving the Lord "with all humility" (Acts 20:19)
4) As believers we must live with humility toward others, as he considers them more important than ourselves (cf. Rom 12:3).
The opposite of humility is pride, an exaggerated sense of self-interest and self-esteem in a person who believes in goodness, excellence, and his own achievement. The inevitable tendency of human nature and the world is toward humility instead of pride (1 John 2:16; bd. Isaiah 14:13-14; Eze 28:17; 1 Timothy 6:17).
