BEHIND A SUFFERING

Throughout the history of the world, God's people always have an increasingly severe oppression and evil. There is pressure coming from the neighbors or the local government. There was abuse going on in local and national scope. How can God's people should respond to this situation? God's people should respond to suffering and persecution they experienced from two points of view.
1. God's people must look at the difficulties and suffering as a discipline. (Heb 10:32-36)God never leaves His children. Although God does not give a reason why it should have a certain suffering, but God explains in detail and carefully about what he did. That is God treats Christians, like a wise father who treats his children. Christian God for his good discipline and order come to share in his holiness. This perspective makes the suffering of Christians naturally felt much lighter. God's people no longer need to wonder what has he done to God to punish him. (Ps 103:13)
God's people can survive and pass through suffering and come out a winner, because he was convinced that his suffering is also a form of expression of the love of God.
2. The people of God have to make Jesus as a figure who can be an example and exemplified. (1 Pet 2:21; 3:14)Jesus had suffered first. He has experienced a tremendous suffering, although he is begotten Son of God. The lead and bringing our faith to perfection.
Meditation: The belief that God still loves you and has a good purpose behind the suffering, is a source of strength to persevere in suffering. Just do not ever expect economic benefits if you should lose a job. Do not ever expect health benefits if you suffer from severe disease. But hope the spiritual benefits of suffering experienced. If we surrender to God, He will work in our lives and through this suffering we are going to grow in holiness. In fact we will reap righteousness and peace, which had provided for His children who are suffering.
